Fishing trouts and something else...
The trouts, fishes known by their size and quantity,
were introduced at the beginning of the XIX century. The trout
is a very combative kind of fish. Fisher-men all around the world
visit the Argentine Patagonia trying to fish the
precious trouts.
The most searched trout species are:
- Brown trout (Salmo Trutta): originating of Europe,
this large species is the wildest of all, as well as the commonest.
The larger trouts than have been fished correspond to this species
(pieces of up to 14 kilos have been obtained). Of a brown-golden
color and white in the abdominal region, it has spots surrounded
by a pale gray circle.
- Stream trout (Salvelinus Fontinalis): known
as salmonada, because of the caracteristic pink colour of its meat,
this species has a greenish colour with clear specks and a red brown
color in its back and the superior part of the head.
- Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus Mykiss): this species
owes its name to its colors that go from white to purple, red and
green. Its head is small and all its body is sprinkled by dark spots.
- Sea trout (Salmo Fario): it has a silver-plated
color characteristic of the marine species. Its weight exceeds the
10 kg. It is known as Native Trout due to its capacity of adaptation
in the fresh water and in the salty water of the sea as well.
- Others: landlocked salmon, perca, patagonic
silverside fish (pejerrey) , pejerrey bonaerense and carpa.
The remaining native species (bagres, puyenes, peladillas and atlantic
salmon) should be released alive into the water with the least possible
damage.
